Wilmington man arrested for larceny in a courtroom

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Wilmington man was arrested after being accused of trying to snatch two purses in a courtroom.

According to the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, 33-year-old William Vernon Mustian II has been charged with two counts of larceny and financial transaction card theft.

Two victims reportedly told deputies they noticed their purses had been tampered with after appearing before the judge.

The victims said they saw a male acting suspiciously and leaving the courtroom as they returned to their seat.  When confronted by the victim, the man dropped the wallet and fled the courthouse.
