WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $250 million and is the largest current lotto jackpot in the world, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

The high reward is creating a ticket sales frenzy in the Wilmington area.  If someone wins the jackpot, it will be the tenth largest payout in Powerball history.

Gas stations and convenience stores have been selling tickets to buyers who are willing to chance their luck.

"I only play when it gets up to $140 million or $150 million," said resident Jennifer Taylor.  "I buy one ticket and I don't go crazy with it."

One local resident said she'd buy a house and a big piece of land if she won the jackpot.  Another said she'd pay off her Kingoff's bill and wasn't sure what to do with the remaining balance.

The winning numbers are: 43-14-31-51-24-PB-27   x5
