NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A teenager who admitted to killing a woman last September will face 27 to 39 years in prison.

Tuesday, 18-year-old Obrian Kireef Hester pleaded guilty to second degree murder and robbery.

According to authorities, Hester shot 45-year-old Michelle Crutchfield in the face while she was inside her truck in Creekwood.

Prosecutors said Crutchfield was in the neighborhood the night of the shooting to buy crack cocaine.

According to a witness, two men went to the driver's side of the truck Crutchfield was in and demanded money. When Crutchfield said they had no money, she was shot in the head.

The male passenger (witness) ran and called for help.

Crutchfield was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where she died.
