Dr. Lerch Question 16

By now, everyone should be aware that the statewide budget cuts have been the steepest cuts in recent history. This situation has forced us to make difficult economic choices between what services to eliminate and what had to be maintained.

For years, NHCS has gone over and above by providing after-school transportation. Neither the state nor the federal government pays for this. With over 10% cut from our state budget and 5% from the County, we have had to make up the difference. We chose to keep teachers in the classrooms and maintain programs that enhance the academic achievement of our students during the school day. NHCS will still provide after-school remediation programs for students, however in most cases - parents will have to provide transportation.
