HALIFAX COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Halifax County Sheriff's Office has charged a woman accused of beating her husband with a frying pan.

According to the sheriff's office, an argument started over breakfast between Rosie and James Lewis, when James didn't like what was cooked for him.

Authorities said Rosie began cooking James another meal when the argument escalated and James picked up his cane in an attempt to hit Rosie.  That's when Rosie began hitting James on the head several times with a frying pan, knocking him to the floor and causing a head injury.

James was taken to the hospital for stitches and is expected to recover.

Rosie is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and is expected to appear in court Aug. 26.
