NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Wilmington hosted a town hall debate on healthcare reform Saturday.
The debate took place at the New Hanover County Library and over 100 people attended, most of which question President Obama's healthcare reform plan.
"I'm not for one party or the other," said Thomas Naramore, attendant. "Although after what the Democrats have done lately, I have tended towards the Republicans."
Elli Klein, another attendant, tends to disagree. She expressed her support for President Obama and the challenge he faces regarding the issue.
"How much deficit did we have to start with because of an unnecessary war in Iraq," said Klein. "Granted, this is adding to the deficit, but sometimes you need to spend money up front to be able to save money in the long run."
Despite opposing views, Naramore doesn't discount the appreciation of camaraderie. "We all have one thing in common - God, we love this country," he said.
