WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The City of Wilmington held an orientation for candidates running for office to learn some of the ends and outs of the job.
The city manager, city attorney, and city clerk were on hand to talk with the candidates about the city's budget, city council members responsibility, and other departments that fall under the city.
"Obviously, it's democracy at work, which is one good thing," said Wilmington Spokeswoman Melissa Talbert. "And also again, more information will make a candidate more informed and a better candidate overall."
There were two orientations Tuesday and there will be a more in-depth orientation in November for the new council members who are elected.
