NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Snow's Cut Wildlife Boat ramp in Carolina Beach will be closed for renovations this fall, and many boat owners told WECT they are not happy about it.

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is planning to pave the parking lot, repair the bulkhead, and add a fishing pier.

But, with the Carolina State Park boat ramp as well as the River Road Park Boat Ramp temporarily closed for improvements, boaters said they are only left with one option, which is the ramp in Wrightsville Beach.

"I'll never go there because that's where everybody is going to have to go," said Michael Broach a concerned boater. "Somebody will be killed out there it's insane. I hope they'll start policing that area more now, until this is dealt with. This is crazy."

The $1,000,000 project will partly be paid for by revenue from North Carolina coastal fishing licensing.
