MYRTLE BEACH, SC (AP) - Freestyle Music Park is helping sponsor a patriotic music festival intended to draw tourists to South Carolina's coast.
The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports Wednesday that several musicians including country superstar LeAnn Rimes will perform at Grand Strand Freedom Fest.
The festival kicks off Sept. 11 with a free concert by the Long Bay Symphony. The next day, a festival at Freestyle Music Park opens with a parade of veterans and concludes with a concert by Rimes.
A portion of the proceeds Operation First Response, an organization that supports wounded soldiers and their families.
BOOST, a group formed in the wake of Myrtle Beach's efforts to curb spring motorcycle rallies, is also sponsoring the event.
