WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The U.S. housing market is rebounding, according to realtor Brenda Mitwol of Intracoastal Realty in Wilmington.

During the month of May, home prices increased for the first time in three years.

Mitwol said Wilmington is also reaping the benefits of the change as showings are up 100 percent at Intracoastal Realty.

She is optimistic about the latest market numbers as she approaches her fourth closing within the past 60 days.

"In Wilmington, it's the coastal community that brings so many people to our market," said Mitwol.  "It's such a beautiful place to live."

Mitwol advises sellers to keep their asking prices low.  She believes it won't be a sellers market until 2011.

"For buyers, it's a buyer's market.  Come see us," said Mitwol.  "It's a great time to buy, low interest rates and great inventory."
