BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Jeremy Cribb resigned from his position as Calabash Town Administrator earlier this month after an outrage over his falsified resume.
Now, the State Bureau of Investigation will be examining the case, and Cribb's actions could result in criminal charges.
Town officials are searching for his replacement and promise a stricter application process.
"In the past it's served us very well," said Calabash Mayor Anthony Clemmons. "A hand shake, somebody's word and a smile and that has worked for us. Unfortunately I guess as the spirit of our world and our times changes we're now going to have to change our way."
Town officials promise to cooperate with the investigation.
