WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A new education center opened in Wilmington designed to teach doctors and nurses in the area.
The new Southeast Area Health Education Center is now located on Delaney Avenue. Before moving into this building, the center was housed inside New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Several courses will be taught inside the building including those on nursing, dental, and mental health.
"Not only can we provide classes here, but we can receive classes from all over the state and outside the state if they're broadcast on the internet," said Dr. Mark Darrow. "And the other advantage of course, that means that the door swings in the other direction. We can broadcast our programs."
The building cost just over $3.5 million.
