WASHINGTON, D.C. (WECT) - President Barack Obama will be serving everyone's favorite beer at a special White House meeting Thursday night.
He's invited Cambridge, Mass., police Sgt. James Crowley and professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., in hopes of moving past the racially charged debate over the arrest of the Harvard scholar.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said President Obama will be drinking Bud Light, and Wilmington Budweiser warehouse employees are thrilled by his choice.
"Well, we're very excited," said advertising manager Bill Rhodes. "Of course you know back in 1933, the Clydesdales delivered the first case of beer to the White House when prohibition had been repealed. We're very excited about the opportunity to share Bud Light with millions of viewers. The number one beer in the world, it's only fitting it should be Bud Light that the President chooses to drink."
According to Gibbs, Crowley will have BlueMoon and Gates will drink Red Stripe.
