NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Wilmington police officers and New Hanover County sheriff's deputies arrested three young men they say were involved in an armed robbery on Carolina Beach Road Wednesday night.

According to the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, Travis Wooten, 20, Terrance Fisher, 18, and Matthew Wallace, 18, stole a card from a man using the Bank of America ATM.

"As soon as I hit the button for money, the guys jumped over the bushes, and I'm like 'no!'" said victim Pal Moore.  "That was my first reaction and I dropped the wallet."

Moore immediately reported the incident to authorities and the credit card company, which notified him his card was used at the Monkey Junction Walmart just 30 minutes later.

Authorities were able to track down the three young men and charge them with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Moore said he believes his actions helped lead to a quick recovery and arrest.

"Don't chase them make a phone call to police and they will be right there," said Moore.  "If you have credit cards call your credit card company and they will be right on it and we can catch more criminals."

According to the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office additional charges are pending.
