BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Officials in Brunswick County will spend the early part of the week developing a county disaster recovery plan.
Brunswick County Emergency Services Operators, state emergency workers, and members of different county departments will meet at the Brunswick County Emergency Center to discuss plans to help the county rebound after a hurricane or storm.
"We've got a real good relationship with all of our agencies and partners that we work with, but bringing everybody together with this meeting it does bring out a lot of information and ideas that people have of what their thought is and what we need to be doing and where people need to be focusing after the event," said Scott Garner with Brunswick County Emergency Services.
According to emergency workers, the county's recovery plan should be complete by the beginning of 2010.
State officials will use the finished product to use as a template to develop a statewide disaster plan.
