Car inspections mandatory in North Carolina

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - In October of last year, the DMV made it mandatory for all vehicles to be inspected prior to registration renewal by the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles.

Over the past year auto inspections fell by 20% when DMV and State Troopers stopped enforcing the law because of several glitches.

Now, those problems are fixed and registration renewal will, once again, require an up-to-date inspection, starting August 1, 2009.
