WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Wilmington family gathered Monday to remember a loved one who was killed a year ago today.
Authorities found 26-year-old Emmitt Irving lying on the ground outside his home on Grace Street July 27, 2008. Family members said Irving had just gotten home from dinner when he was robbed and shot several times.
"No amount of justice can be placed on losing a loved one, but we just want justice to prevail in this incident," said Irving's first cousin Kenyatta Clark. "We can't bring him back, but we want them to be punished to the fullest."
The Wilmington Police Department is still investigating this case and is offering a $10,000 reward for information that will help lead them to the killer.
