WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Bills for Cape Fear Public Utility Authority customers should be up-to-date, and late fees are effective again.
There were billing complications when the water company took over for the Wilmington Water Authority in 2008. Since there were glitches in the system, customers were given more time to pay their bills without facing late fees.
Now, those problems have been fixed and customers will not be given the free grace period. According to CFPUA officials, charges on customers' bills should be correct.
