WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Several local bands performed at the Cape Fear Blues Festival held at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater Saturday.

The festival kicked off Friday night with the Annual Blues Cruise aboard the Henrietta.

"People come from all over the country, as far away as California and Maine.  Everywhere," said Hamelburg, Cape Fear Blues Festival.  "It's a wonderful weekend for everyone. The weather here is great, people go to the beach, it's just fantastic."

Saturday night performances included blues shows at 16 Taps and the Rusty Nail in Wilmington.  The festival will wrap up Sunday, July 26, with one final blues jam at the Rusty Nail.

Proceeds from the festival benefit the Cape Fear Blues Society.
