WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The 14th annual Cape Fear Blues Festival kicked off Friday. The festival runs through Sunday, July 26.
Friday night, the Henrietta will be converted into a blues-cruise as folks float along the Cape Fear River listening to the blues.
On Saturday, a blues workshop will take place at Finkelstein's Music in downtown Wilmington, followed by a concert at noon at the Greenfield Lake Ampitheatre. Saturday night, concerts will be held at 16 Taps and the Rusty Nail.
On Sunday, it's an all day blues jam at the Rusty Nail.
"I think it's exciting this year for all the local bands to be performing in this year's festival," said Bobby Hamelburg with the Cape Fear Blues Festival. "It's kind of unusual. They made all the local bands kind of the headline, which I think is a great thing."
