WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Residents are taking a stand regarding the future of Wilmington's Wrightsville Avenue.
Approximately 75 people filled the fellowship hall at Winter Park Baptist Church to voice their opinions about corridor planning. Transportation officials separated the residents into groups to discuss the pros and cons of living in the area.
Christine Hughes, Senior Long Range Planner, heard residents' voices loud and clear. "They're talking about traffic. They're talking about sidewalks, or lack thereof. They're talking about the character of the historic neighborhoods," she said.
Residents are gearing up to attend the next Wrightsville Avenue Public Workshop, which will be held Saturday, August 29, from 9am - 12pm.
