Marine arrested in double murder near base

ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Jacksonville Police Department has arrested a Marine accused of killing two people early Friday morning.

The Jacksonville Police Department said that 24-year-old Gabriel Ape and 23-year-old Christopher Watts were both killed Thursday night in the Northwoods Shopping Center parking lot.

According to a Marine Corps spokesperson, 22-year-old Cpl. Jarrelle Damont Wilson of Michigan is facing charges of two counts of murder.  

Wilson entered the Marine Corps in 2005 and is currently assigned to 10th Marine Regiment.

Two Marines from Camp Lejeune are being questioned by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service about the shooting deaths of two people .

A 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force spokesman said the Marine Corps is cooperating with the police.
