PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Pender County Emergency officials will have to find someone new to lead them through the tough times.
After working with Pender County for over 13 years, County Emergency Manager Eddie King turned in his resignation last week. King said it was a personal decision and that it is time to move on.
His job is to prepare the county for emergencies like hurricanes and respond to situations like wildfires. King said the county is well prepared for an emergency and is in good hands.
Kings last day as manager will be July 24, and County Manager Rick Benton will handle the search for King's replacement.
