Leland children learn dog safety

LELAND, NC (WECT) - Some kids in Leland learned how to be safe around any type of canine Tuesday.

Amadeus, the traveling dog, is part of a campaign designed to teach children how to treat dogs without making them feel threatened.

The 135 pound dog attracted a lot of visitors at the Leland library and participants said they learned a lot.

The Amadeus Campaign is now working with local adoption agencies to include pet safety information with dog adoptions.
