WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A program that helps at risk youth is hosting a fundraisers this weekend in an effort to continue to help the community.

The Family and Neighborhoods Institute provides free after school help and food for children.  The program almost closed last year due to lack of funding, so Pastor Robert Campbell said this is a very important fundraiser.

"It takes about $1,000 per kid for one year, and we normally raise about $25-$30,000 during this program and all of the money goes to this nonprofit organization that has been doing this for 15 years," said Campbell.

Carrabba's will cater the fundraiser gala, which will be held Saturday, July 11 at 6:00 PM at Union Missionary Baptist Church.  For tickets call (910) 762-2884.
