UNCW will be included in the Fiske Guide to Colleges

Posted by Debra Worley - email

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - UNCW has joined the ranks of an exclusive group of higher education and will be included in the 2010 edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges.

The guide is a source for college-bound students and their parents, providing information on 300 of the best and most interesting colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.

The information is presented in a subjective manner instead of a statistical one, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each institution in terms of academics, social live, and overall quality of life.

In his review of UNCW, author Edward B. Fiske says: "students enjoy extensive undergraduate research opportunities, a slate of solid sciences, and a close-knit community of like-minded individuals who like their modern academics mixed with a bit of old-fashioned southern charm."
