Wilmington man charged with trespassing on Jacksonville car dealerships

ONSLOW COUNTY (WECT) - The Jacksonville Police Department has arrested and charged a Wilmington man with trespassing.

According to officers, 21-year-old Nicholas John Matasich of Wilmington trespassed on Sanders Ford and Hix Motors in Jacksonville.

According to warrants, Matasich broke into a 1996 Ford Mustang at one of the dealerships. When an officer attempted to stop Matasich, he ran and jumped a fence to escape.

Authorities were able to catch up to Matasich and arrest him.  Jacksonville Police Department charged Matasich with possession of:

  • burglary tools
  • trespassing on posted property
  • second degree trespassing
  • breaking and entering a motor vehicle
  • resisting a public officer
