WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Some local businessmen are working to help children who have lost loved ones.
Dennis Anderson and Tim Denny own 15 McDonald's restaurants in the Wilmington area.
Both men are heavily involved with the Ronald McDonald House charities. Thursday, they donated $2,500 to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and its Sunshine Camp for kids.
"The money that we get, the donations from the community will help just enrich all that equipment that we have, and allow us to just use more and more sensory experiences for the kids, because it's through play a lot that kids can express their grief and their feelings," said grief counselor Marty Hernandez.
There are still summer camps running for kids who've lost loved ones. For more information call (910) 524-1872 or visit their website http://www.hospiceandlifecarecenter.org/.
