NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office used a K-9 unit to make an arrest in a robbery incident Tuesday night.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to the Gas Center #4 at 1915 Castle Hayne Road after receiving a call from the alarm company regarding a hold-up alarm.

A K-9 unit was deployed and tracked 44-year-old John Gilchrist Williams at a nearby mobile home park.  Deputies described Williams as having "bulging pockets and sweating."

Williams admitted to the crime and was taken into custody, charged with armed robbery, second degree kidnapping, simple assault, and communicating threats.
