BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A Brunswick County teenager is facing charges after a deadly car accident that claimed the life of two of his peers last month.
District Attorney Rex Gore said 17-year-old Joseph Moreno went to court Monday on two counts of involuntary manslaughter.
Troopers said Moreno was driving too fast on May 8, when he lost control of his car on Royal Oak Road and hit a tree.
West Brunswick High student Jacob Mosely died that night, and fellow student Caleb Hawkins later died at the hospital. Neither were wearing a seat belt.
Moreno is out of jail on a $25,000 bond.
