KURE BEACH, NC (WECT) - The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher will have a new coastal art exhibit on display throughout the summer months.

The Spadefish gallery art exhibit will showcase paintings that are inspired by the coast, created by award winning artist Barbara Bayer.

Bayer's work has been on display in galleries throughout NC and Florida, and her work "Park N Lights" was selected for the Pleasure Island's Annual Island of Lights '06 Christmas card.

The Spadefish gallery at the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher showcases other local artists throughout the year.

NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher is located just south of Kure Beach, near the mouth of the Cape Fear River, on U.S. 421.
