WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Hardee's at 112 Military Cutoff Road celebrated its renovations by thanking their most loyal customers.
The restaurant re-opened its doors early Monday morning after months of remodeling the dining room.
The first 101 people in line Monday morning were rewarded with a free breakfast sandwich and a coupon for a free Thickburger every week for one year.
According to staff, customers began lining up Sunday night around 7:00.
"[There was] a line all the way around the building, people with lawn chairs and seats and camping gear - you'd be surprised," said Hardee's District Manager Jerry Miller. "Anywhere from elderly people to young kids to teenagers. It was just a very wide variety of people."
Some happy customers said the free Thickburgers were good news in a bad economy.
Hardee's will host a "Hometown Party" Tuesday evening to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Wilmington.
