BRUNSWICK CO., NC (WECT) - A well-known Brunswick County woman is throwing her hat in the ring to replace State Representative Bonner Stiller.
Current Brunswick County School Board member Shirley Babson says she intends to fill the empty seat left by Stiller.
As of now, Babson and District Republican Chairman Frank Iler have both expressed interest in the seat.
The Brunswick County Republican Party will vote and make their decision Tuesday, June 16.
Stiller announced last week that he was resigning to spend more time with his family and focus on his law firm in Southport.
