WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A woman lost her job after residents of a Wilmington apartment complex complained about unprofessional Facebook posts.

According to Market North Apartment residents, the offensive posts came from a woman who worked for the complex.

"I think she thought we were all dumb, because it clearly states in there that she thinks we're stupid and I think that she thought nobody would see the facebook.com," said Market North resident Rebecca Rivenbark.

One online post after another made statements including, "These people are scum bags," and "dirty [expletive] people."

The apartments are managed by PK Management.   The company manages almost 100 Section 8 properties nationwide.

The PK employee who made the posts and lost her job said the whole situation is a misunderstanding and that she was talking about her neighbors, not the residents of Market North.

Residents, however, don't believe her, based on posts referring to evicting people and making property inspections.

"She can't evict her neighbor," said Rivenbark. "She can't do property inspections at her neighbor's house.  It clearly states in there that the residents--it says over and over--about the residents."

The employee told us that her Facebook profile is private, and the people who live at Market North shouldn't be looking at it.  Residents say it's too late for that, and they've seen enough.
