NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - New Hanover County health officials have sent another specimen to the lab to be tested for H1N1.
A student at New Hanover High School is suspected to have contracted the virus, but it has not yet been confirmed.
The student was not in school Monday, and Principal Chris Furr notified parents of the possible case using the "Alert Now" messaging system.
Parents will receive more information in a letter that will go home with students Monday.
Health officials remind the public H1N1 is not as dangerous as they once believed it would be.
