Wilmington pedestrian fighting for life after being hit by car

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT)- A young man is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Wilmington.

According to police, 24-year-old Aaron Casey and his friend, 27-year-old Christian Locke were crossing South College Road when Casey was hit by a 2007 Nissan. Locke was not injured.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Casey may have run into the roadway without looking.

He was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with possible life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Nissan was not charged.
