NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center will host an open house of their new facility this weekend.
The $3.9 million Phillips Life Care and Counseling Center serves nearly 1,500 patients and their families who suffer from life limiting illness, and also help loved ones, including young children, who are facing the reality of growing up without one of their parents.
The center on 1414 Physicians Drive in Wilmington features a garden, grief programs, and is also awaiting environmental certification for its green construction.
"The garden was really built so you don't have to make any decisions you just kinda walk around and gain strength from the greenery and peacefulness of the garden," said Laurie Taylor, the vice president of development.
The open house will take place Sunday, June 7 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
