WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A young Wilmington girl has been diagnosed with leukemia and her 5-year-old sister is the only good donor.
This weekend, friends have organized the "Hair for Denise" benefit at Xtravagant Hair Design on Wrightsville Avenue to raise money to help pay for the girl's medical expenses.
The event is taking place from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
Even if you don't need a haircut or a new do, every donation counts.
11-year-old Denise Hale was diagnosed with Leukemia in February. This month, she and her sister will head to the hospital for a bone marrow transplant.
Learn more about Denise in the months ahead as WECT follows the family throughout the donation and treatment.
