NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Some mobile homes parks in New Hanover County will eventually be transformed into condos.

New Hanover County Commissioner decided during Monday's meeting to rezone the mobile home parks into 288 condos.

Some residents of Royal Palms Mobile Home Park off Carolina Beach Road say they are upset about the rezoning.

They say they were given a notice at the beginning of May assuring them the park wouldn't be sold or rezoned.

The developer with Royal Palms Mobile Home Park has two years to begin construction before the rezoning becomes invalid.
