WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Nearly 100 mountain bike riders pedaled for peanuts Sunday to raise money for third world countries.
Sunday was the 2nd annual Pedaling for Peanuts Mountain Bike Race at Blue Clay Park in New Hanover County.
All the money raised in Sunday's event will go toward the Full Belly Project, which is an organization that donates sustainable technology for third world countries.
"It's good to see not only me and my friends are coming out to do this," said Austin Fenwick an organizer. "It's good to see we have racers coming out in the heat and participating and raising money for a good cause. That's the part that makes me happy."
Organizers said they raised more than $1,000.
