Kingoff's Jewelers to relocate

Posted by Debra Worley - email

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A store that has been a part of downtown Wilmington for nearly 100 years is leaving.

After 90 years downtown, Kingoff's Jewelers will be moving to Hanover Center on Oleander Drive.

The store opened in 1919 and moved to its current North Front Street location in 1935.

The landmark clock in front of Kingoff's downtown location was destroyed in an accident a couple years ago and a new one was put up last year.

The original clock was more than 100 years old.
