NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office is joining efforts with the Vann family to offer a reward for information that could lead to an arrest in a homicide investigation.

20-year-old Corey Vann was shot and killed along River Road in January 2009.  His family held a bake sale in March, which helped them raise $2,500 to be offered as a reward.

The sheriff's office is now offering an additional $2,500 for anyone who calls into Crime Stoppers with information that can help solve this case.

According to Cpt. Donald Taft, authorities have searched seven homes and vehicles, and have interviewed over 80 people looking for information that could help solve this case.

Authorities have submitted evidence to the SBI lab and are waiting for results.

So far no arrests have been made, but Larry Gonzales is a person of interest, according to the sheriff's office.  Gonzales was Vann's former roommate.

No other details have been released at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 531-9845.
