Wilmington, NC (WECT) -- After several days of cooler than normal temperatures, it looks as though spring-like temperatures will return, just in time for the unofficial start of Summer.
Memorial Day weekend means the start of many local summer seasons and is typically the opening weekend for pools, parks and attractions that close during the Winter.
This weekend temperatures are expected to rebound from several days of clouds, wind rain and cool temperatures. Highs for the weekend are expected to be in the low 80's with overnight lows in the low to mid 60's.
And while the sky won't be completely cloud-free, there will still be plenty of sunshine. Rain can't be completely ruled out, but overall, chances remain small. Any scattered showers will have the best chance of developing on Sunday. Saturday and Monday will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny.
The normal high temperature for this time of year is around 80 degrees. Temperatures over the past week struggled to get out of the 50's on Monday, with a high of 70 on Tuesday.
