Hoggard senior falls short of winning scholarship

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A senior at Hoggard High School fell short of winning a Tuition-Tales Scholarship.

As part of the competition, Joey Connolley submitted a 30 second video explaining why he should win the scholarship of $10,000.

Anyone could vote for the video they liked the best at Tuition-tales.com.  Chris R. of Mississippi won the contest with more than 14,000 votes.  To see his video, click here.

"I make movies," said Joey.  "I have made tons of films. It is my passion to make films, in order to make this passion into a career I want to go to NYU, but without enough money I can not go."

Joey was recently accepted into New York University and has been working hard to earn money to pay tuition.
