PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Coty Inc. announced Thursday they will be shutting down its locally owned operations, and hundreds of local employees will lose their jobs.

Coty Inc. will cut off operations completely at their Leland location as of Dec. 31, 2009 and about 90 people will lose their job.

"I'm one of those employees," said general manager Cary Newman.  "There'll be generous severance packages.  There will be on on site career center to help people get jobs - how to interview, how you network, how you write resumes."

The Leland facility is a processing center for customer returns and promotional products for Sally Hansen, N.Y.C. New York Color, and LaCross products.

The Rocky Point Plant will shut down manufacturing completely and distribution remains to be seen.

The Rocky Point facility manufactures Sally Hansen and N.Y.C. New York Color nail color and nail treatment lines, and packages Sally Hansen nail treatment and LaCross implement products.
