JACKSONVILLE, NC (WECT) - A McDonald's in Jacksonville was destroyed in a fire, just days before the restaurant was scheduled to close.

The blaze started early Tuesday morning at the McDonald's restaurant at Georgetown Road and Marine Boulevard in Jacksonville, near the Camp Lejeune military base.

According to reports the roof has collapsed and all that remains standing is the building's brick frame. Witness say the flames jumped 25-30 feet high and smoke engulfed the building.

No one was injured in the fire that began in the ceiling, above a sprinkler.
