I am a native North Carolinian who is happy to be in the Tar Heel state. I was born in Raleigh and I am a graduate of Broughton High School and N. C. State's Meteorology program. The Raleigh Tornado of 1988 and Hurricane Hugo in 1989 fueled my interest in weather when I was in high school.
After I graduated from N. C. State, I attended Mississippi State's graduate program in Broadcast Meteorology. During my thirteen year career as a Meteorologist I have had the chance to cover: blizzards, floods, tornadoes, and yes even some hurricanes. I have worked in: Rapid City, SD, Parkersburg, WV, Abilene, TX and most recently Lafayette, LA. I was a Chief Meteorologist in Parkersburg and Abilene. These wonderful opportunities have given me a wide range of experience in severe weather situations. In 1998 I was awarded the American Meteorological Society's Seal of Approval.
I have been married for ten years to my wonderful wife Elizabeth and we have a son named Winston and a daughter named Anna-Scott. We also have a dachshund mixed dog named Texas (You can probably guess where we got him). I love sports such as: golf, basketball, and tennis. I'm also a big fan of John Grisham books. I am very happy to be bin North Carolina to cheer my beloved N. C. State Wolfpack through thick and thin.
Currently I am serving on the board of the Phoenix Employment Ministry. This group does wonderful work in helping homeless and nearly homeless people in our community find work. They also organize Wilmington's Big Greek Wedding, which I've been involved with the last few years. Feel free to email me at email@example.com.
