WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The tough economy isn't keeping some people in Wilmington from having a cookout.
Smoke was coming off the grills Friday morning as the Cook Out Restaurant opened its doors next to UNCW.
Customers quickly line up at the grand opening of their take-out windows.
The company started in Greensboro 20 years ago, and has been popular in North Carolina ever since.
They say they're the best deal in town on everything from hotdogs to shakes.
"As people drive up and down the road they keep honking, saying, 'hurry up and open' and stuff so the response has been really good," said opening director Allen Brooks. "Everybody is just happy we're here and we're happy we're here too."
Cook Out is open from 10:30 AM until 4:00 AM.
