Man convicted in federal court for possession of firearm

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A man accused of running an illegal video gaming establishment at the Two Trees Pool and Spa Store in 2009 has been sentenced in federal court.

William Inman was convicted of unlawful possession of a firearm.  Authorities say Inman reportedly would sit at a desk directly in the path of the front door of his business and was known to keep a large handgun on his person at all times.

In 2008, Officer Andrew Lazzaro shot and wounded Inman in the process of raiding his illegal video poker business.

Inman faces up to 10 years in prison for his conviction, followed by up to three years supervised release and fine of up to $250,000.
