WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Area law enforcement agencies are joining efforts to raise funds for the North Carolina Special Olympics.

The Wilmington Police Department, New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, NC ALE, and Highway Patrol can be found on the roof of the Chick-fil-A on Oleander Drive until Saturday.

Some officers are perched on top of the restaurant while others are working on the ground to collect donations for Special Olympics.

Chick-fil-A is donating a portion of the restaurant's proceeds from both Friday and Saturday sales.

Special Olympics North Carolina provides year-round sports training and competition for more than 38,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
